These women spread their articles out for sale near the hotel areas.
Much of what they sold were not coral or turquoise, or silver, or old,
or well-made, but who cared? They were very happy to make any sale.
Lhasa is simply filled with street markets. Markets
are one of my most favorite things to check out, walk through, and
The Potala Palace dominates the city of Lhasa. There
are 999 rooms and one cave inside. It was completed in 1645 A.D. (white
section), then the red section was added 50 years later. It stretches
1300 feet from east to west, and 1150 feet from north to south. There
are 13 levels of stairs to climb on the outside to get to the top.
