The murals were very hard to photograph
because you couldn't use flash and we didn't have a tripod. The blue colors indicate there was some
connection with the Mayans - whether the pyramid was built by Mayans or
whether the art work was done by immigrant Mayan artists is unknown.
The serpent is a Mayan motif, tho.
The themes of these murals is warfare, as I hope you can tell.
This heavily carved area was apparently never painted.
The blue growing things may be corn plants. It seems that almost every
surface at one time or another was covered in paintings.
