This is a site in Chiang Rai where some of Buddha's ashes are kept. Next to it, of course, is a shopping stall. The sign reads: "Shopping this way please." Of course, we complied. They had wonderful things: old loom tops, old opium weights, old wooden implements, of course, tons of fakes, too. After we shopped, our guide said, "We thank you for helping out the economy of Thailand." We were happy to do so.
We travelled to the Golden Triangle, and climbed up to a scenic vista where we could see Laos, Burma, & Thailand all at once. Then, we took a "long-nose" boat over to Laos, sailing thru Burmese waters. Who would ever have believed this?
